Community Guidelines
Awareverse is a peer-led community built on lived experience, kindness, and genuine support. These guidelines exist to keep our spaces safe, welcoming, and useful for everyone — especially the most vulnerable people who use them.
💜 Our Community Values
- Kindness first — we are all here because life is hard sometimes. Treat everyone with the same compassion you would want for yourself.
- Lived experience matters — nobody knows what it is like to be you except you. Your experience is valid and valued here.
- No judgment — we do not judge parenting choices, diagnoses, support decisions, or how anyone chooses to navigate their situation.
- Peer support not professional advice — we share experience, not clinical guidance. Always seek professional advice for medical, legal, or therapeutic decisions.
- Everyone belongs — neurodivergent people, families, carers, professionals, and allies are all welcome here.
✅ What We Encourage
- Sharing your own experiences and what has helped you
- Asking questions without fear of judgment
- Offering support and signposting to others who are struggling
- Celebrating wins — however small they seem
- Being honest about the hard days as well as the good ones
- Directing people to professional or statutory services where appropriate
🚫 What Is Not Allowed
- Abuse, harassment, or bullying — of any member, in any form
- Discrimination — based on disability, neurodivergence, race, gender, sexuality, religion, age, or any other characteristic
- Sharing personal information of others without their explicit consent
- Identifying children — never share photos, names, or identifying details of children in our community spaces
- Medical or legal advice — share experience, not professional guidance
- Promotion or advertising — without prior permission from Awareverse
- Misinformation — particularly around health, diagnoses, treatments, or legal rights
- Content that could harm vulnerable people — including anything that glamorises self-harm, eating disorders, or abuse
- Graphic or distressing content — without clear content warnings agreed with moderators first
🛡️ Safeguarding in the Community
This is important. If you share something in our community spaces that indicates a child or vulnerable adult may be at risk of harm, Awareverse has a safeguarding responsibility to act on that information. Awareverse community spaces are not confidential safeguarding disclosure channels.
If you need to raise a safeguarding concern please use our dedicated safeguarding support page or email safeguarding@awareverse.co.uk directly.
If you see something in the community that concerns you about someone's safety, please report it to us immediately at safeguarding@awareverse.co.uk.
🔧 Moderation
Awareverse moderates community spaces to keep them safe. Moderation decisions are made with care and in line with these guidelines and our safeguarding responsibilities.
- Content that breaches these guidelines may be removed without notice
- Repeated or serious breaches may result in suspension or removal from the community
- We will always try to explain our moderation decisions where possible
- If you disagree with a moderation decision you can contact hello@awareverse.co.uk
